Bratapfel mit Lebkuchen überbacken
(Apples Baked with Lebkuchen)

Ingredients

1 stick unsalted Butter
4 teaspoons Raisins
4 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
7 oz (200g) Lebkuchen (without Chocolate Glaze)
4 medium Apples
6 Egg Whites

Instructions

Wash apples. Cut top off and remove core.

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Cut up the Lebkuchen into tiny pieces.

Combine egg whites and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy. Add Lebkuchen pieces.

Fill each apple with egg/lebkuchen mixture. The easiest way to do this is to use a pastry bag. Place filled apples onto a greased oven-safe pan (or small cake pan). Allow apples to bake and brown for about 25 minutes. For the last 5 minutes in the oven, add butter and raisins to the pot and allow them to cook with the apples for 5 minutes.

To serve, place an apple into a dessert bowl. Add some butter and raisins. Garnish with powdered sugar.
