| The Mittelrhein wine region is located mainly in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz) with a little part stretching into the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (Nordrhein-Westfalen). It runs 72 miles (120 km) on both sides of the Rhine River between the cities of Bingen and Bonn. |

| The Mittelrhein wine region has ideal conditions for grapes to thrive. Grapevines are planted primarily on split-level, steep hillsides to get maximum exposure to sunlight. The Rhine River keeps temperatures stable, keeping the region not-too-cold and not-too-hot. |
