Today's Spotlight Recipe: Lebkuchen Liqueur (Lebkuchenlikör)
If you love Lebkuchen, you'll love Lebkuchen Liqueur. It's sweet, creamy, and is sure to warm you up on a cold Winter evening. Because it uses many of the traditional Christmas spices, Lebkuchen Liqueur is a favorite this time of year. It also makes a great homemade Christmas gift for adult friends and family members.
Lebkuchen Liqueur (Lebkuchenlikör)
(yields 2 cups)
1 1/2 cups Whipping Cream
1/2 cup Schnapps
1/4 cup Whiskey
4 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
6 tablespoons Nutella
2 1/2 teaspoons Lebkuchen Seasoning (see recipe below)
Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl. With a hand or stand mixer, whisk mixture on low speed until the liqueur is smooth and well mixed.
Keep Lebkuchen Liqueur refrigerated for up to 3 weeks.
Lebkuchen Seasoning (Lebkuchengewürz)
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Allspice
1/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon Cardamom
1/2 teaspoon Ground Coriander
Combine all ingredients.
